JTDX optimal decoding settings

Something I didn't write myself but I wanted to publish it here. This document was created by DB6LL Hartmut in collaboration with ES1JA Arvo. It describes best possible settings for the populair FT8 DX software JTDX.

Since my blog also has a archive function I wonder how we look at this document in a few years? Would there still be a digital mode like FT8? I think we just experience a start from what is possible with this kind of technology. I started with WSPR in 2009, 11 years ago. What will the next 11 years bring?

I'd much prefer a return to something where there is a meaningful human element. FT8 is, mostly, just logbook filling. JT65A at 200mW from the coast. That's a lot more fun.

I prefer JT65 & 9 too with low power ofcourse, its sad that FT8 is mainly a qro mode todays. I wonder if some dxpeditions can decide to have a little qrp activity, lets say 1 hour per day. On digimodes is easy to accept real weak signals only 73

Also prefer JT65 & JT9 with low power ofcourse. I am hopping (and waiting hi) always for dxpeditions with litlle qrp activity lets say 1 hour/day. With wsjt-x its easy to accept only true weak signals 73

And I also prefer JT65 and JT9 with QRP, low power. I don't like FT8 mode and for me it is a logbookfillermode

Luckely JTDX does JT65 and JT9 as well....but rarely anyone use it these days. I agree with all your comments but till now let's get the best out of FT8. 73, Bas
