Jaap PA0O already mentioned the exceptional propagation to Japan and China on his blog today. I received several Japanese stations well on FT8. But unfortunately it seems they didn't receive me. It was one of those times that the propagation seems to be not reciprocal. Jaap does transmit with max. legal power so he managed at least one QSO with JA and several with China.

Wow! Well, it's only a month until midsummer. Maybe you can get some 6m and 10m JA QSOs again?
I wonder Bas if it is because there are so many European stations on FT8? Was your signal covered by others from Europe?
Propagation is always two way.

Hello John, that is a misunderstanding. Propagation is not always reciproke. It is two way, but your signal can take a quite different path as the opposite station. I've experienced that a lot. My signal was probabely covered up this time. It's a matter of luck to find a spot in the waterfall that isn't occupied. 73, Bas
