It was just last week that I heard about this project. Very nice initiative from HB9VQQ. Using Zachtek WSPR desktop transmitters and special software he created a coordinated WSPR transmission net with of course the help of other HAMradio operators worldwide.
Why?
To identify and visualize weak Signal Propagation paths to study global Ham Radio HF Propagation for the interested audience by collecting consistent WSPR Data from standardized Beacon Transmitters over an extended period of time like years. Inspired by the NCDXF CW Beacon Project.

Hello Jan, there are more ways to monitor propagation these days. But the initiative to set this up is very nice. I hope the can reach their goal and I hope to read more about the research. 73, Bas
Thanks for the Blogpost Bas, much appreciated. Behind the scenes we are working hard on BigData Analytics besides many other ideas. Rsearching about a possible global network of WSPR RX Monitors, especially outside central EU and US.

One problem is that WSPR continues to occupy the now very busy general digimodes portion of the bands. I've long argued - and this project is one good reason why - that WSPR should be located in the beacon sections of the bands. It's like trying to wake a dead donkey persuading anybody of this, though.
Oh, yes, there are.
I have been using using FT8 monitoring for 10, 6, 4 and 2m for a while. BTW 10m has become quite good the past few weeks. North Eastern US has been through the past few days. 10m F2 is about to wale up after the deep minimum.
