Since I use the newest version of Ham Radio De Luxe (V5) + the logbook I made an account on HRDLOG.NET from IW1QLH. The HRD logbook does support realtime logging to this site. So it means you can put a realtime log on your own website and you can also put a small code on your site to let people know if you are on-air and on which frequency. All this in the populair twitter trend these days. It had been a time ago that I made this account and logged in and actually I didn't take a look at it. But since I was searching the net for a logbook to log my WSPR DXCC I came accross this site again. So I logged in and took a look around to discover it's also possible to receive QSL like eQSL (see picture). You can find a experimental realtime log on my homepage and on the bottom of this blog you can see if I am on-air. Now, I don't really care about a online log for average amateurstations, but it is a nice experiment.

Clubavond Hunsingo

I've been to the club evening of our local department of the VERON last friday evening. Unfortenatly de club is suffering from aging and most of the members are not so very active anymore. Though they where very active 20 till 30 years ago. They even got their own foundation that made experiments with antennas and did a lot of contesting on VHF/UHF/SHF from Luxemburg. They even got the first Luxemburg - Netherlands on their name on the 9cm band. A great achievement as 9cm was not even allowed for Luxemburg citizens at that time. For some reason visiting ham radio license holders where allowed to be on that band. PH7B Bert showed us 2 nice 8mm films of their activities in 1979. A whole other time and nice to see that the grey man from our club where very active when they were at my age.

CQWW SSB 2009

160m: VE3PN Canada
80m: VY2ZM Canada, K1LZ USA, K1TTT USA, K3LR USA, RW2F Kaliningrad
40m: V26B Antigua&Barbuda, UP0L Kazachstan, TS9A Tunisia, RA9A Asiatic Russia, EE9Z Cueta Mellila, CR3L Madeira, RW2F Kaliningrad, K3LR USA
20m: VE3EJ Canada, P40A Aruba, W3LPL USA, 4U1UN UN HQ, D44AC Cape Verde, V26B Antigua&Barbuda, 8P5A Barbados, 9Y4D Trinidad&Tobago
15m: HT2N Nicaragua, HI3TEJ Dominican Rep., ZV2C Brazil, K4SSU USA, 9K2HN Kuwait, VU2PAI India, SU1KM Egypt, TY1MS Benin
10m: 4U1ITU ITU HQ, 5B4AD Cyprus, 4X0A Israel, EK8WA Armenia, EE9Z Cueta&Mellila, ZX2B Brazil, 6W1RY Senegal, ZS9X RSA, SU1KM Egypt, TS9A Tunisia.

Above you can see a photo from my shack at the time of the CQWW. It's a bit of a mess, but after our move to this house there are so much other things to do that there is no time left to built a new shack. So the temporary shack is in the new bedroom to built at the first floor. Last weekend I had a really outstanding CQWW SSB DX contest with great propagation. My target was to improve the score of last year and in a chat with PD7BZ Bernard I joked that I would make at least 500 QSO to do that. Actually I thought it could give me a hard time but it happens that I made 558 QSO after all. The 10 and 15m band where wide open and due to that I had no problem to make QSO after QSO. I got a lot of new DXCC and band DXCC and the most interesting QSO was with VE3PN Canada on 160m. Above a summary of the nice DX worked. Unfortenatly I still hear more then I work, I missed a few stations due to big pile-ups like HK1, 5B8 and 3W1M. But I don't complain, it was a great contest with good DX overall. The most difficult QSO was with TY1MS, it took me a half hour of calling. He only got PE4, I think the use of N1MM log program on their side saved me. If you enter PE4 in the program you only get 2 calls in the call check window. As the operators name of TY1MS at the time was Bas by coincidence it was easy for him to guess! So he finally had the call correct this time for shure.
