A good start of the Sunday

Calling on what looked like a death band....

Suddenly 3B8CW Clive from Mauritius came back. Who says FT8 is not magic? I still feel the same compared to this would happen in any other mode...it's radiomagic.

Have been chatting with Clive after the contact (JT-Alert chat) and we discussed the propagation. Clive wrote me he uses a Icom IC-7610, 200W into a hexbeam. His signal only became stronger in the mean time, till about +4dB.

Good morning Bas well we almost made contact, I saw you calling me and I attempted many times to get back to you. You were -18 and at the same time I had about 4 U.S. calls also trying to get back to me. Well it's good to know that it's only a matter of time before our FT-8 signals cross paths. I was just on my PC checking of blogs with my morning coffee and I saw that you were on the air. It was first 15m and then up to 17m.
Thanks for the FT-8 call and maybe next time.

Hello there Mike, yes, I noticed you on 17m via PSKreporter. Well I received you R-18 report, later it became R-20 (have screenshots). I transmitted RR73 tu several times but didn't see you anymore. Well, it seesm you didn't receive my RR73 after all unfortunately. I logged you anyway since we both received the report. I think we will succeed with a proper QSO next time....73, Bas

Hello Bas, I just was not able to get your RR73 and it may be because there was about 4-5 U.S. stations that were calling and trying to make contact with me. I am guessing they just walked over your RR73 confirmation. But as you said it now is just a matter of time.
73 and have a good week.

Hallo Bas: dat zijn inderdaad de leuke dingen, zelfs met FT8. De 10 meter band blijft altijd een interessante band om in de gaten te houden. 73 Paul
