Netherlands to USA on 160m SSB?

Pierre ZS6A wrote about a "killertool" in clublog pointing to the propagation link on that site. Since the CQ 160m SSB contest is on this weekend I was curious when it would be the best time to work USA/Canada on that band. Although I don't think there is a chance to work USA myself on that band since I don't have a DX antenna capabable for 160m. Best time would be 5 UTC in the morning according to clublog. It could be the info is usefull to someone?

73, Bas

Bas, my inverted v system (nested 30/40/80) will tune on the CW portion of top band with the ATU. I have managed a few DX contacts on it. You will find some of the big top band stations, particularly in contests, have excellent receive antenna systems, and many of them should be able to pick you out. I am talking, of course, about CW. SSB would be a bit more challenging. Early morning when you have the grey line is the best time.

73, Bas
