The fun is that P43A Jean Pierre has a background as a avid 11m DXer just like me. He even met his wife on the airwaves.
Thanks very much Jean Pierre for being my number 100 DXCC on 6m.
The fun again is.......you already guessed it. PJ4KY Bert was also involved in 11m DXing.
It was nice to meet these 2 CB buddies, 10-4 ;-)
We almost forget, this is not HF! This is VHF...

Congrats, Bas - that's quite an accomplishment on VHF!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Bas, your time, effort and hard work has paid off! Very nice to read that you have hit the 100 DXCC mark and all on 6m.

ReplyDeleteHallo Bas, gefeliciteerd met je behaalde resultaat! 73 Paul
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting to 100 on 6.
ReplyDeleteI just started in 2015 from the present QTH, and I have been using verticals only, so it may take me quite a bit longer, but it is always good to see the effort of you and many others give results.

Congratulations! Quite an achievement! I have no chance on 6m!
ReplyDeleteTnx everyone for all the comments. Don't think you have no chance on 6m with a small antenna, beam or vertical. I managed to make a QSO with only 5W JT65 on a V2000 clone vertical only 6m above groundlevel to Puerto Rico once. It is all about propagation, you need the right propagation. The be able to have advantage of this rare good propagation you need to be on air a lot, actually....all available time. That's because this rare propagation is mostly there for a few minutes. The 6m band is not an easy DX band at all, it is a big challenge! I'll write another post about this years ES-season later on. 73, Bas
ReplyDeleteWow, dat is knap. 50 MHz, the magic band. Gefeliciteerd, 73 Ron pa2rf
