Prachtig verhaal. 73 Hans, PE1BVQHanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13344836980834233549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3676983452144254088.post-12037225450886231022014-11-21T22:29:38.114+01:002014-11-21T22:29:38.114+01:00Excellent story - thanks!Excellent story - thanks!John AE5Xhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06884676867006975179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3676983452144254088.post-34746633970057176052014-11-21T22:00:17.311+01:002014-11-21T22:00:17.311+01:00Well John, a explanation is written in the Dutch s...Well John, a explanation is written in the Dutch story. It has a copyright and so it's difficult to translate online. The story is that he was captured at the end of the war. Schrader learned at the OSS to try making a trust relationship with his questioner (Joseph Schreierder from the Sicherheids Dienst). He told the SD some information that wasn't actually important but good enough to keep him alive at that time. Within time he would been executed but his name mysteriously vanished from the dead list. Later he heard that the female secretary of Schreierder, who had a lot of influence, was secretly fallen in love with him. Of course, because he was still alive after the war, this made him a suspect. He was captured by the allied Canadian forces but left free because of his US contacts (OSS). He didn't accept any honours after the war as he said his biggest honour was that he was still alive. I hope this revealed a little to you and other readers. 73, Bas
PE4BAS, Bashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12958141238330445285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3676983452144254088.post-22599784954959662612014-11-21T17:38:37.700+01:002014-11-21T17:38:37.700+01:00Interesting story, Bas. Most radio spies had a low survival rate due to being executed soon after capture.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
