Aurora


 

Not the Flex Aurora but the real thing. Finally we saw the northern lights here, even with my own eyes. Pulsating green is not very common. The last time I saw it was over 30 years ago and then it was pulsating red. The Potsdam Kp index suddenly went to a Kp of 8+ which is very high.

    I was out a bit late, but I also had some aurora still, after midnight. Despite heavy light pollution from a nearby transport center.

    Good morning Bas, yes they are always an amazing thing to see. I have seen them twice. Just a few years ago was the last time. I found the Iphone does a great job of picking up the colours.
