I really had no inspiration for this contest this year. It might be the highlight of the year for others but not for me this time. There was no Dutch record that I could go for and so I had no goal. I decided to make at least 50 QSO and search for DX only. When 10m and 15m closed I tried some DX on 20m. But I couldn't really get the contesting feel. I decided to stop early with 52 contacts in the log.

ReplyDeleteHeb je ook nog wat gezocht naar DX Paul? Ik ben ook eigenlijk meer een DXer als een contester, altijd al geweest. De kleine zwakke signalen vanuit verre landen heeft mij altijd het meest geboeit. 73, Bas
DeleteI know how you feel, Bas. I have to start thinking about the contest days ahead of time and make myself excited about it - otherwise, the interest wanes. I did look for you to be spotted but didn't see anything. I did hear Mike VE9KK but he had QSY'ed (or QRT) by the time I was tuned up and ready to call him.

Hello John, it was really on/off for me this weekend. I think I've been QRV for about 2-3 hours in total only doing S&P. I didn't even go to 160/80m. Most contacts made on 15m I think. Although I reached into your area I don't think I was spotted, even not by RBN. But I'm shure we will make another QSO again in the next years, 73, Bas

I already read your blog Larry. Sometimes we really don't have the feel to participate. There are other things in live besides radio contesting. I spend more time with my family which is most important. 73, Bas
