At the moment I'm participating in the SSB fieldday contest. But there is also a All Asian contest going on. I already heard lots of Japanese on 20m this afternoon booming in with 5/9+ but was not able to contact them. So, I had more luck in the greyline this evening. More photo's and info are following! But I like to share this already as this is very special. Both QSO's are made with about 5W from the FT-817ND and the MP-1 antenna on a tripod in my back yard. Band was 20m.
Ik doe momenteel mee met de SSB velddag. Maar er is ook nog een international Azië contest aan de gang. Ik hoorde vanmiddag al een hele rij Japanse stations binnenkomen op 20m met 5/9+ maarhet lukte me niet om een QSO te maken. In de schemering deze avond lukte dat wel. Meer foto's en info volgen nog. Maar dit wou ik even delen omdat deze QSO vrij bijzonder zijn. Beide QSO's gemaakt met ongeveer 5W uit de FT-817ND en de MP-1 antenne op een driepoot in mijn achtertuin. Band was 20m.

Hello Dick, the MP-1 antenna is absolutely marvelous on 20m. I've been calling and trying on 15m also but strange enough not a single station that heard me. 73, Bas
