Critics on Deep Search in JT

Critical as I am about some things I got aware of some critics on JT65 modes from years ago via this writing on PA3CWN's QRZ page:

JT65: I DO NOT confirm JT65 qso's anymore. After reading ( info sm2cew.com) and understanding

the true meaning of the DS decoder I got aware of this 'guessing' technique.

Therefore my opinion is that JT65 has no DXCC credibility.

Your lucky if you already posses a card with confirmation of a JT65 qso, because it was before I got

aware of this JT65 DS issue.

Now, this article on sm2cew.com is last updated June 2009 more as 4 years ago. The JT modes did evolve in time and this was more a issue with very very weak signals below -27dB and EME. Not shure if this counts for HF use of JT as well. But I thought I should share this as many are not aware of this article. Standard decode setup is "normal", but if you think your computer is able to do "deepest" search you could try it. I did try it but the article made me choose "normal" again. Actually I do not notice any difference, I'm still able to decode even the weakest traces in the waterfall.

Kritisch als ik soms ben over sommige dingen kwam ik op het spoor van kritiek op de JT65 mode van een paar jaar geleden via de QRZ pagina van PA3CWN. Nu is het artikel op de pagina van SM2CEW  alweer meer dan 4 jaar geleden bijgewerkt en de JT modes verder ontwikkeld. Het was ook meer een probleem dat optrad bij zeer zeer zwakke signalen zeg maar onder -27dB in EME gebruik. Ik weet niet zeker of dit dan ook geld bij gebruik op HF. Maar ik wou het toch even delen omdat velen niet weten van het bestaan van deze kritiek. Standaard staat diep zoeken uit, maar als je denkt dat je computer het aankan zou je diep zoeken kunnen proberen. Het artikel zorgde ervoor dat ik zelf mijn decode weer terug gezet heb naar normaal. Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik geen verandering merk, ik kan nog steeds zelfs de zwaktste signalen decoderen.
