Since I didn't want the beam lying in the grass the whole winter I did temporarely mount it on a 4m pole. I have it in a fixed position to the USA now. It's far too low to give good performance but still it equals the vertical already in that direction. Merry Christmas everyone...
Omdat ik de beam niet de hele winter in het gras wil laten liggen heb ik hem voor nood maar even op een paaltje van 4m gezet. Heb hem vastgezet in de richting van de USA. Veel te laag om goed te werken natuurlijk, maar toch is het al gelijk met de vertikale antenne in die richting. Prettige kerst allemaal.
Well, even at that height you should expect it to outperform the vertical I'd think. It would be interesting to compare them on WSPR over time. Hope you can get it up higher soon!

Casey, the beam is now between buildings like the house of the neighbours and our house, the greenhouse and the garage. That has too much impact on the signals. If I could get it to 8m or so it would perform a lot better.
