After I got curious by reading the blogs of PC4T and G4ILO I installed the JT65-HF program made by W4CQZ myself last thursday. The program is really easier to use then WSJT, it also has an option to connect with HRD for the frequency. I setup everything, radio on 5W QRP, loop antenna tuned, works perfect...Though I did see signals in the waterfall the program did not decode anything. I even saw a signal response on a CQ, but no decode, so don't know who it was? Anyway, I found the problem. Since I always use DM780 in the background when I use WSJT or WSPR, but this seems to have a conflict with JT65-HF. So, DM780 switched off and JT65-HF restarted and the program decodes very well. I made 2 QSO to PA5JS and M6ZOO. After that I decided to check PSKreporter as JT65-HF reports spots to this site. I did not believe my eyes! I was spotted by W4CQZ the JT65-HF programmer. A nice surprise. I just had a few minutes time to switch on the radio at Saturday. And though it was 40m WSPR special activity day I thought it would be nice to WSPR on 17m. So I setup the radio to 1W and tuned the loop antenna, switch to the 600KHz filter and then I saw a very strong RTTY signal just besides the WSPR frequency....since I have DM780 always running at the background I just checked and it was 6W/PA3EWP Ronald from Senegal with 599 RTTY. So I quickly made the QSO for a new DXCC on 17m. Best DX on 17m WSPR was WV5L Vance from New Mexico USA, distance more then 8000km. I decided to go on WSPRing 17m this morning at around 10:15 UTC, the distance record was broken again. I was heard by VK4YEH Tim from Australia, distance more then 16000km.

Hoi Bas, toch maar eens op je blog gekeken en ook dit is een interessant artikel. Ik ga me zeker eens in deze software verdiepen.
