Storm report...

Lots of wind the last 24 hours. Sometimes over 100 km/h. My XYL called me by phone at the lunchbreak. She told me one of the supports of the loop was gone (broken). And the beam was on the ground. Since I leave home in the dark and am back late from work it's already dark again. So I could not see what the damage is. But the loop is down and the beam is in pieces. I'll try to make some photos Saturday. Luckely the vertical and VHF/UHF vertical are still standing. At the moment we still have very large wind gusts.

That's a real bummer...sorry to hear about that. Do you normally get this much wind?

Wow Bas, that's tough - and you just put the beam up recently. Hopefully you'll be able to repair it without too much trouble. Regardless, at least you didn't mention any structural damage to your house.

Hi John & John, we normally get this much wind on the end of this month.
Didn't even have time to test the beam. Luckely all antennas are a reasonable distance from the house.

73 Paul

Good morning Bas, well I hope once you get a better look at it the damage is minimal.

Leek me toch een fragiele antenne.

@Mike, I can have a better look tomorrow. Didn't want to go in the garden yesterday and don't want to today. It's dark when I come home so I can't do anything about it. Looking at me probabely gives me a sleepless night ;-).

Hello Bas,

Good luck with the antenna "farm". The situation guess it's serious, I just saw here in the local news (rarely there are news about the Netherlands) but they were more focused on the rising water levels in your area.

Hello Ricardo, luckely I'm not in that area (you've been here so you know). It's about 15 km away from here. I hope those people will not have damaged houses due to the water. They can only wait till the danger has gone. 73, Bas

Hallo Bas,

Zie PA1A. http://www.pa1a.com

73, Bas
